Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Software

Betting Your Company On An Internet Platform?
Picking One That Can Deliver Success

Saturday, June 14, 2008

at the California Institute of Technology
Pasadena, California

Are you on the right platform to catch the express to success? The initial choice of internet platform is perhaps the hottest of hot topics - the wrong commitment can mean costly mid-course correction or worse, a very short future for your company.

Please join the Caltech/MIT Enterprise Forum and the Technology Council of Southern California for their annual software program this year focusing on Internet Platforms. Since full interoperability or standards are not yet here, companies must choose and navigate the tricky platform maze planted by Google, Facebook, Flickr, and Salesforce among others, on which to grow their applications. How does the nature of the application determine their platform? Which is best to reach their target market? Which one is likely to endure, be supported and attract the right developer community? This becomes an especially critical issue when balancing limited resources and time to market.

Our keynote speaker, serial Internet entrepreneurs, and panelists will share their "been there, done that, shoulda done, will do, never do again" experiences as guideposts for young ventures to better identify the right application and target market platforms.
